A Studio Update

The days have flown by, getting all that goes into building a business off the ground. For months, the place changed almost daily. Now, I'm happy to say, it's down to just a couple of updates a month.

Everyone who walks in is amazed to learn we're only a little over six months old. It looks (and feels) like we've been here much longer. We're settling in and finding our voice in the art and interior design world. The walls are full of work by incredible local artists. There are displays for draperies, hardware, bedding, and so much more, with even more on the way.

From day one, my vision has been, and remains, presenting art and interior design in a way that feels natural, comfortable, and welcoming to everyone who walks through our door.

Styling Spotlight: How to Style a Console Top

There are so many options when accessorizing and styling a flat surface. Do you like symmetry and balance with matching items? Or do you prefer a bit more organic and collected?

A vignette can balance height and weight by pairing a tall vase of faux olive branches with two stacked pieces of art on the other side. The eye still travels evenly across the console, nothing feels lopsided, even though nothing is perfectly matched. A low framed piece grounds the vase, while a curated bar tray and a small stack of coffee table books add texture and life. Grouping objects by height, in threes, and leaving a little breathing room between vignettes is what keeps a collected look feeling intentional rather than cluttered.

Our Latest & Current Project

We love working with life changes! Whether you're relocating to a new home or simply craving a refresh in the one you're in, the best place to start isn't paint chips or fabric swatches. It's a tape measure and your phone camera.

Before a single piece of furniture moves, I measure and photograph everything the client already owns and loves. Then it all gets laid out on a furniture plan, room by room, so we can see exactly what fits, what needs a new home, and where a fresh piece might make all the difference. It takes the guesswork (and the "will it fit through the door" panic) out of the process entirely.

Right now, we're deep in the middle of doing just that for a current client, mapping out a master bedroom, bath, and living spaces before the move even begins. We'll be sharing more of this project's journey, from furniture plan to final reveal, in the newsletters and posts ahead.

Quick Tip: The Rule of 3

Struggling to style a shelf, console, or coffee table? Try grouping items in odd numbers. Three works best. Vary the height (tall, medium, short), mix textures, and leave a little breathing room between pieces. Odd numbers and varied heights create visual interest, while even numbers can feel a little too matchy. It's a simple trick, but it makes almost any surface look effortlessly curated.

Artist Spotlight: New Arrivals

We're thrilled to welcome two new pieces to the gallery walls, both from talented artists in Kingwood.

Wildfire by Lynda Feierabend captures a horse in full stride. Watercolor, 16 x 20, beautifully framed. There's a real sense of motion and warmth in this piece, from the dust kicked up beneath each hoof to the soft glow of the sky behind her.

For something bolder, Insomnia by Pamela Beck is an acrylic on paper, 24 x 36, framed. A striking, energetic abstract full of movement and layered color. It's the kind of piece that changes a little every time you look at it, full of energy, much like the artist's late-night creative bursts.
