About the Artist
Lynda Feierabend
Wildlife and birds in luminous watercolor
Lynda Feierabend is a Houston native and 24-year resident of Kingwood, Texas, whose lifelong love of animals, birds, and the natural world is the driving force behind her art. A watercolor artist and wildlife photographer, Lynda has been painting since 2011, a second career she pursued with passion after retiring as a salon owner and Master Stylist.
Her work spans the full breadth of the animal kingdom, with a particular devotion to birds and wildlife rendered in expressive, luminous watercolor. Lynda travels extensively to photograph subjects in their natural habitats, from the rich bird sanctuaries of Kingwood to destinations around the world, translating those encounters into original paintings that celebrate the spirit of each creature.
Lynda's talent has earned national and local recognition. Her wildlife art has been featured in American Watercolor as a weekly ambassador, as well as in local publications. She has received 2nd Place and Best of Show honors at juried exhibitions and serves as the official artist for the Kroschel Wildlife Center in Haines, Alaska, where her paintings of the Center's animals are on permanent display.
In 2023, Lynda founded the K9 Heroes Wall of Honor, a deeply personal tribute to K9 officers and their canine partners serving with HPD, Precinct 3, Precinct 4, and the military. She paints each K9 officer's portrait, gifts the original to the handler, and a framed print for the Wall of Honor. Today, 19 framed prints hang at Skeros Furniture in Kingwood.
