A Studio Update
What a homecoming it was! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our six-month milestone with us, we had a full house of new faces, returning friends, and the wonderful support of several of our artists' own family and friends. It was a joy to see the studio so full of warmth and connection, and it reminded me exactly why we do this work.
And this is just the beginning! We're already planning more gatherings, both in the very near future and throughout the rest of the year, so keep an eye on this space.
We're also thrilled to share that our website is officially live! It's the perfect place to explore everything Langley Art & Home is about: local artists, thoughtfully curated home décor, and interior design, all in one place. Take a look and see what's new.
Styling Spotlight: How to Style a Fireplace Mantel
This month's styling inspiration centers on a favorite: the fireplace mantel, a space that's equal parts personal and architectural.
Anchoring the look is She Blooms, an acrylic on canvas (36x48) by Pamela Beck of Kingwood. Her bold, blooming florals make the perfect focal point, framed simply.
- As mentioned in last month's issue, we leaned on the Rule of 3 again here. The art is the star, everything else was styled to support, not compete with. A pair of candle holders, varied in height, for warmth and a soft flicker of light. Small vessels tucked at the base along with a stack of books (no more than 3).
The result is a mantel that feels curated, not cluttered, full of texture and story, with room to breathe.

We love working with life changes!
If you've been following along, you know we've been deep in the planning phase of this client's furniture project: first photographing and measuring every piece of furniture and rug, then translating all of that into scaled drawings on the room plans to map out exactly what will fit where.
Now comes one of our favorite parts: putting all that careful planning into action, starting with the area rug.
The rug is always the foundation of a room, so getting its placement right matters. The key is leaving a consistent reveal of flooring between the rug's edge and the walls; that visible border of floor grounds the space and keeps the room from feeling like the rug was just dropped in. The size of that reveal depends on your rug and room dimensions, but the golden rule is balance: if you have 6" of floor showing on one side, you want that same 6" on the opposite side.
It's a small detail, but it's the difference between a room that feels intentional and one that feels a little off, and it's exactly the kind of step we don't want you to skip.

Quick Tip: On Approval
Did you know you can take art, or anything else from the studio, home on approval? Sometimes a piece just needs to be seen in your own space, in your own light, alongside your own furnishings to really know if it's right. It's the best way to decide, and honestly, it's something I do all the time. Come in and take a piece home, no pressure, just see how it feels.
Artist Spotlight | New Arrivals
I'm so excited to welcome two new artists into the Langley family this season.
Joanna Purvis joins us with When the Clouds Sang, a stunning 30x30 acrylic / gold leaf on canvas. Her dreamy, sky-and-sea palette of coral, blush, and deep blue feels both serene and dramatic all at once. I've long admired Joanna's eye through the design industry, and couldn't be happier to now carry her work in the studio. Welcome, Joanna!
Kayce Bae brings bold, layered energy with her untitled 24x24 acrylic on canvas abstract. Vibrant strokes of cobalt, teal, magenta, and gold collide across the canvas in a way that feels both spontaneous and deeply intentional. Her work adds a fresh, contemporary voice to our collection. Welcome, Kayce!
